Address verification at checkout. To prevent delivery errors we verify the address you enter at checkout. Dutch addresses are checked on our own server against the public Dutch address register (BAG, Kadaster); your data does not leave our systems. For addresses outside the Netherlands we use an external address service. Only the address fields you entered are sent: street, house number, postal code, city and country. Your name, e-mail address, phone number and order details are not. That provider acts as a processor and is located outside the European Economic Area; the transfer is covered by the safeguards the GDPR requires. Our own server records a log line for each address check containing the address looked up (postal code and house number, without name or contact details); these log files are kept for at most nine weeks for troubleshooting.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary:
Order records: Retained for at least 7 years to comply with tax and accounting regulations.
Marketing data: Retained until you withdraw your consent or opt out.
When your information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

Request correction of incorrect or outdated information.
Request deletion of your personal data, where legally possible.
Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time.
Right to Data Portability (Article 20 GDPR)
You always have the right to have the personal data we process about you, or that is attributable to you, transferred to another party. You may submit such a request to our Data Protection Officer. You will receive a response within 30 days of your request. If we grant your request, we will send, to the email address we have on record, copies of all data concerning you that we have processed ourselves or that has been processed on our behalf by other processors or third parties. Please note that, if this portability request is fulfilled, we will likely no longer be able to continue providing our services, as the secure linking of our databases can no longer be guaranteed.
Right to Object and Other Rights (Articles 21 & 22 GDPR)
In certain cases, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by or on behalf of KRAKEN. If you submit an objection, we will immediately suspend the data processing pending our review of your objection. If we uphold your objection, we will provide you with copies of the data we process and thereafter permanently cease that processing.
You also have the right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making or profiling. We do not process your data in a manner that would trigger this right. If you believe that you have been subject to automated decisions or profiling, please contact our Data Protection Officer immediately.
