KRAKEN Paddleboard Valve Pressure Meter: what it is for
The KRAKEN Paddleboard Valve Pressure Meter is a gauge that fits into the valve of an inflatable board and shows the pressure inside, in PSI and in bar, on a dial up to 30 PSI (2 bar) with green, orange and red zones; the green zone runs to about 1 bar (15 PSI), the maximum printed on the valve of the KRAKEN boards. Push it into the valve, read the needle, take it out.
You need it when the pump is not there. A board inflated in the morning gains pressure in the sun, so a quick check before you go out tells you whether to let some air off. A board pumped with a compressor through the valve adapter, or a borrowed board, has no reading at all. And the difference between 10 and 15 PSI is a board that flexes and one that glides.
It works on the standard SUP valve used by the KRAKEN boards. For a pump that stops at the set pressure by itself, see the electric SUP pump with battery; everything to inflate a board is in the SUP pumps range.
